I find it very disturbing that men can do this to women (concerning Rape). I think that men buy into what it means to be a man way to much. I want to be my own person, I do not want someone or someones who have no right dictating what my life should be, decide what I should be. If I want to be a nurse or social worker I should be able to whether society says it is right or not. I think that people Liston to society way to much and forget really who we are. I think it is healthy to go against norms on a regular bases so we can understand the difference between norms and what we are. These stereotypes are now being challenged by everyone in today's society. Which is good because if they can be disregarded all together then we will not have to fit in a certain social spectrum. I found it very cool that there is a group concerning the advancement against the stereotypes concerning masculinity. This type of group would not have been accepted in society like 30 years ago, so to have even this type of advancement is pretty amazing. another sign of advancement is the fact of all the people that have came out and now are openly gay. If this would have happened 30 years ago these people would have been the focus for hate crimes. It is sad that it has taken this long for there to be people to understand the problem with stereotypes and labels.
